Hello,
We have a requirement to make the 'comments' in the Approval assignment block as a mandatory entry for every Approval step in the Approval procedure when any activity (Rejected / Approved / Not Relevant) is done.
Is there any way this can be set? Please suggest.
Regards,
Kathir
Hello Kathir,
We have recently implemented a very similar solution to your requirement above. We had a requirement that a user had to add comments to a Change Document when a particular status was being set.
We found the correct solution by creating a new Text Type and then via the relevant BADI and configuration settings in the Consistency Management Framework we were able to make the user enter comments when setting a status.
So in your case when the Change Request is being approved upon save the user would have to enter relevant comments via the Text Type block - if no comments have been entered they would not be able to save the Change Request.
Would this be a sensible solution for you?

You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Hi Gary,
Sorry for the delay in replying.
Thanks for your reply. Consistency checks based on Status Transition would have helped for any status transition based situations.
But for Approval procedure there may be multiple approval steps and there is no Status transition that will happen until the Final approval step. So the Consistency check BADI will not help in this scenario.

Kathir
