SAP BO Developer Access in Production

Hi

I would like to know what is the best practice for SAP BO developer access in production.

The following is possible scenarios:

  • The developer have full control in BO Prod and may develop new reports and make changes to reports already in production . My personal view is that this scenario should not be allowed.
  • The developer have access to reports in production and may save a copy of it to his personal folder. In the personal folder he may make changes to the report and test until satisfied. The changed report must be promoted back to the development environment. The normal lifecycle of the report must be followed before promoting as a productive report.
  • A connection can be created from Development to production. This connection may be used for development and user acceptance testing. On completion of development the report must be promoted to production.

Please advice if there is other alternatives and which is best practice

Thanks

Your preference is a best practice, especially with BW in the picture.

Developing against QA should give the developer an idea of how it will work in production
