Consider Inbound Production in Constrained Supply Run

Hi Experts,

IBP Version: 4.0.2.1

Can someone guide us for the below use case:

Use Case: Requirement is to run supply run on weekly basis (thinking of IBP for Supply). We have a requirement of considering production planned receipts (coming inbound from MRP run) in the constrained supply planning algorithm.

Has anyone worked on this scenario?

Alternative: Model this as INTRANSIT Receipts.

Hi Aditya,

You can bring the Production Planned Receipts from MRP run as Minimum Production (bucketed) in IBP for Supply.

In the frozen horizon these can be modeled to be considered as fixed and outside of frozen horizon the supply operator will plan 'Production Qty' at least equal to planned Production Qty coming from ERP run.

Thanks

Hi Pramod,

Thanks for your prompt solution. I have a question in extension of the above:

IBP Version: 4.0.2.1

We are trying to use ALGORITHM_TYPE = COMPLETE_FINITE and have populated ADJUSTEDRECEIPT key figure to constraint material availability form vendors. We have multi-level BOM scenario and want to highlight material shortages.

In our case non-shared component is constraining the finished good throughput and not the shared component.

If we constraint a single material then the algorithm works fine but when we constraint multiple materials then the results are not as expected. After conducting some analysis, it seems constraining shared components and non-shared components together does not show correct results. Shared component are distributed in fair share and then constraints for non-shared components are calculated by the algorithm. We can see projected inventory in our shared component which should have allocated to other finished goods.

Please guide.

Aditya G
