Material Ledger mandatory in Simple Finance 3.0

Is Material ledger going to be mandatory in S/4 HANA 3.0?

Hey Vikas,

ML is required for enabling S/4 Logistics setup.

It is one of the step there.

However you are right that actual costing is not mandatory.

The 1511 version & integration with S-logistics is still not out so we can wait.

Hi Vikash,

Material Ledger never be mandatory as not all the clients will go for it. However in existing scenario Material Ledger is not integrated with simple finance for Cost Component break up for revaluation difference which is available as part of costing based COPA.

This functionality has been included in SFIN3 shipments and will be available. This ensures that contribution margin can be generated reconciled with Finance with multi dimensions.

SAP has made Material ledger mandatory in 1511 but not Actual costing.
