Unable to see new version of message map in drop down menu of Operational mapping program

Please help, I know I am missing something.

I updated my message map and renamed it the next version number, I would like to now link it to the current operational mapping.

but when I look at the value list of message maps, my updated map is not in the list.

Please advise how I get the updated map to show in this list so I can select it for use in this operational mapping.

As you may have noticed I am new to the application and unable to find documentation to support my inquiry.

Is your new mapping activated? Try dragging/dropping the new mapping inside the OM.
