Hi experts,
My client required plant specific number range for production orders. there are having 4 plants. Kindly suggest how to maintain the number range plant specific without change the order type.
Thanks,
Santosh Sharma
Hello Santosh,
Not possible to create the different number range for same order type.
best way you have to create the 4 order type and assign the require number range.
Ex: Create the order type like ZP01 to ZP04 with all same setting and assign number range as per your req to order type.
Some industries follow the same process.
Please check and revert back, if you have any issue.
Thanks and Regards

Hi Santosh,
This you can achieve by maintaining the four different order types with different number ranges defined in OPJH / CO82 if your client agrees
other wise as suggested by the other forum members please assign the external number ranges
while saving the production orders user has to enter the different number ranges with respect to plant

hi Santosh,
it is achievable as suggested in other thread.
http://scn.sap.com/thread/3189739
so basically you can achieve it by external number range. for that first create a screen variant for co01 and assign, and keep the number range like zzzzzz and make it gray so user can not enter the number range.
now create a user exit , mostly PPCO0007 and change the number into the structure as you want.
reward if helpful.

Solomon

Hi Santosh Sharma,
You can do it by creating different order types for each plant. Then you will assign the number range that you want to each order type.
I think it is not possible to have different number ranges for the same order type.
Kind Regards,
Mariano

Hello Rohit,
Order type and number range has 1:1 relationship. One order type can be assigned to only one number range per client.
In standard SAP, it is not possible to assign one unique Order type to multiple number ranges. Order type dependency is at client level not at plant level.
Create different order types in 4 different plants and create different number number ranges corresponding to each different order types and link them accordingly.
