Dear Colleagues,
For our fi posting we need a place where to store the attachments (approvals, invoices..). In our company we use Documentum. Can someone explain me the pros and cons between SAP Content Server and Documentum?
Regards,
Alexander
Hello Alex,
1) The SAP Content Server is not an archiving system.
2) It does not support optical storage or optical archiving. Storage takes place in a database or on a file system.
3) The SAP Content Server does not support replication
4) The SAP CS backup strategy is to backup the complete database (or filesystem storage) on external storage media. In case of emergency this backup is used to reconstruct the SAP Content Server.
In case SAP CS is using as File System below should hold good:
It will not support : CAS, compression & encryption(unless intermediate encryption device is used), time stamps, security key & document structuring
note: SAP CS 6.x is considered, may be SAP CS would have been more sophisticated by now.
Thanks,
Kolusu
