PPM hours a day -ratio

Hi,

In PPM tasks the conversion of time units from hours to days is based on 24 hours a day. It should be corrected to working hours per day (e.g 8h/d). Where can this be maintained?

We have already maintained the following configurations and no effect was noticed:

  1. Project Management -> Basic Settings -> Define Time Units (D Days, H Hour)
  2. Project Management -> Basic Settings -> Define Locations (Calendar, Hours/Day=8h)
  3. Project Management -> Structure -> Define Project Types (Unit = Days)
  4. Project Management -> Resource Management -> Basic Settings for Roles -> Make General Settings for Distribution (Customer setting created: Distr.Unit=D, Period type=month, Hours per day=8,00, Calendar, Unit for Hour=H)

Could someone advice where else to maintain the hours per day –ratio?

Thank you for the tip. However ,this did not solve the problem as we already had 8 hours maintained here.

We sent a request to SAP and got instructions on how to solve the problmen. Here are the instructions to anyone who struggles with the same problem.

Cause

  • The conversion of day to hours for  staffing in cProjects is fixed and
is always 1 full day -> 24 hours.
  • One day is converted to 24 hours

Resolution

  1.     Working days have to be defined in cProject customizing (SPRO)
  2.   Define a time unit with 8 hours per day in customizing as follows:
  3. . TA SPRO

         > SAP Netweaver
             > General Setting
                > Check Units of Measurement

Select "Time" from the dropdown box and click on "Units of measurement".
Here you can define a working day

      (numerator= 28.800 -> 8 hours = 8*60*60 seconds =numerator).

    4. TA SPRO

         > Collaboration Projects
           > Basic Settings
              > Define Time Units

Make a new entry with the "working day" you have defined above.
This should allow you to now use the "working day" in cProjects.

Hello

Can you please check under : Portfolio Management -> Global Customising -> Global Settings -> Check Global Settings

Select Area 001 (Capacity Management) then double click on 'Default Settings (SAP)' on the left. Check the value for AREA 001 and NAME 0009 :

If you wish to change this value DO NOT change it here. Go to ....Global Settings -> Override Default Global Settings and update the value for AREA 001 and NAME 0009 to whatever you want it to be.

Let me know if this does not resolve your issue

Regards,

C
