Drop bw java stack , reinstall bi -java system : loss of Information Broadcasting?

Hello,

We are running SAP BW 7.3 Dual Stack : the bw java stack is used solely for Information Broadcasting.

There are more than 200 Bex reports being scheduled through it.

We are planning to perform an upgrade to BW 7.4, the BW dual system would need to be split into two systems BW abap and BI -java.

We are considering two options :

Option 1

Use the dual split tool to create two systems : BW ABAP 7.3 and BI-JAVA 7.3 and upgrade bot h thoses systems to 7.4

Disadvantage : from a basis perspective, there is more effort : we have a newly created BI-JAVA system to declare on solution manager,

and make all the necessary configuration so that it can be upgraded.

Option 2

Use the dual split tool to DROP the BI-java stack. We upgrade BW ABAP to 7.4, then install from scratch the BI-java to 7.4 , similar support package levelsĀ  are applied of course, and bot hsystems are connected.

Advantage : Much easier from a sap basis perspective , we only have one upgrade and a clean installation

Disadvantage ? Potential risk of data loss. I understand that BEx Web Broadcasting is actually an ABAP HTTP application, even though it is rendered by a BI-java system. So we are afraid of loosing all the Bex Broadcasting configuration, by dropping the BI-java stack, and installing a new BW java system?

Anyone has a clear idea , or experience with similar setup ?

Will we lose the configuration being done on the 200 Bex Reports if we renstall the bi-java from scratch?

Thanks and Regards
