Erro start sap service

0 Kudos

Dear Gurus,

I'm facing a error when i try to start the sap service of the SOLMAN 7.1.

The costumer moves all discs in the server to another storage, and after this change the error appears.

I can start the SMD Agent service, but only the SOLMAN service doesn't work.

When i try to start the SOLMAN service i see the error in event viewer:

Unable to change to Directory E:\usr\SOL\DVEBMGS00\work. (Error 3 ESRCH*: No such process OR: The system cannot find the path specified.) [ntservstart.cpp 1047]

And the error appears when i try to start the SOLMAN service:

The SAPSOL_00 service on local computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.

But the right directory of the sap is E:\usr\sap\SOL\DVEBMGS00\work. I don't understand where the sap service find this wrong path in the error (E:\usr\SOL\DVEBMGS00\work).

I already see the permisson of the user SAPService<SID> i all directory and it's ok.

I already delete the service and create a new, but without success (the same error appears in the event viewer.

Could you help me please!!!!!

Thanks in advanced.

Hello,

I'm not sure why this is occurring, but try setting the parametner:

DIR_HOME = E:\usr\sap\SOL\DVEBMGS00\work

At the START and/or instance profile to see whether it helps.

Thanks for the reply Isaias!

I set this parameter directly in the profile or in sap service user?

Thanks for the help!

Directly in the profile.

You can also check whether it is already there.

Maybe it is, and pointing to the wrong folder .

It's works!!!!!!

This parameter is not in start profile.

But now when i try to start the SOLMAN appears the error:

Start failed: 2

Cannot read registration directory:

E:\usr\SOL\SYS\global\sapcontrol

hmmm this is strange....

So, other paths are affected too...

well... setting:

DIR_GLOBAL = E:\usr\sap\SOL\SYS\global

should do the trick.

If there are other instances, running on different servers, it should be:

DIR_GLOBAL = \\<SAPGLOBALHOST>\sapmnt\SOL\SYS\global

It's doesn't work.

I think was a symbolic lynk, i'm not sure. This costumer is new.

Do you know how do a symbolic lyn in windows 2008?

Thanks very much for the help!

"E:\usr\sap\SOL\SYS\global" should be a folder.

"E:\usr\sap\SOL\SYS\global\sapcontrol" should also be a folder.

"\\<SAPGLOBALHOST>\sapmnt" should be a share of the folder "DRIVE:\usr\sap"

<SAPGLOBALHOST> would be the server where the ASCS is installed (or Central Instance, if an ASCS was not installed)

All instances must use the same "DIR_GLOBAL"...

I hope this helps .
