Hi All,
We use BI platform 4.0 SP06.
WebI key users asked for a following segregation of securities for simple users:
- Folders with centralized reports: view and refresh, no saving
- Favorite folder of each user: a bit create-edit access also, e.g. input controls, filters etc.
I couldn't find how to grant those rights on a folder level, but on a WebI level only. Due to users are not allowed to save in the main folders, this workaround doesn't lead to any issues, even if users change in centralized reports, they don't save changes. However from my consultant point of view it looks a bit poor, so I am looking for a more nice solution.
Two questions.
1. Is it really impossible to segregate at a folder level in my version?
2. Is it possible to do this in BI 4.1 SP06 or maybe planned for 4.1 SP07 or 4.2?
Thanks and Regards,
Ekaterina
Hi,
Fro BI 4.1 new feature is added "Customization" with this more flexibility in the security.Control on what can user see.
Even with your requirement if you will deny the access "to add objects to the folder".users will not able to save changes on the particular folder.but with this approach you needs to enable the Webi design mode.
