How to add customers to KNA1 table?

I am trying to add new values to cross reference table. WHat is the trans. code to update it? I tried to update with SM30 but it is giving an error with "entry doesnot exist in KNA1 - check your entry". How to update these tables?

It is a stndard SAP table so you wont be able to update it using SM30.

You need to create new customers using XD01 or VD01. If you want to add some additional info to existing customers then use XD02 or VD02.

To add to my previous update in case you are trying to do some mass update of a field then use XD99.

New value van be added in new customer master through T.Code D / VD01.

Incase if customer master already exist, it can be done in change mode XD02 / VD02.

If the data base is huge in which the value is to be added, it can be done through LSMW, by recording LSMW in change mode.

Mass changes is possible through T.Code: XD99. Incase of mass change test it perfectly, before trying the same in production server.
