Hello Dashboard Experts Out tthere

Please help

When using Dashboards, Excel does not allow renaming of tabs or addition of new tabs?  we can still add data within spreadsheet

This appears to happen once an .xls  is saved and reopened?

This is hampering development when multiple tabs are needed.

Can someone please advise on what to do

Dashboards 4.1 SP4

LiveOffice SP4

Excel 2013

Best Regards

Ade

Hello,

You did develop this dashboard? why i'm asking, someone may have locked the sheet from editing (Password protection). Try creating new dashboard to check if you are able to add/rename sheet then let us know!!

Hi Vijai

See below, Step 3 is where the problem starts.

I have done the following:

1) New Dashboard with Spreadsheet (blank)

2) created and saved a simple dashboard based on Excel data

3) when I preview (swf) and then return to the worksheet I then cannot edit tabs or add more tabs?

4) I re-installed LiveOffice SP4 and tried again - same behaviour

5) I have removed all protection from Excel 2013 and restarted machine - makes no difference?

Best Regards

Hi,

Try Re-installing dashboard and ms office. I'm not sure it would be the root cause but if you have luck, it may work!!

Hi Ade,

Try to replicate the issue by creating a simple dashboard.

Do not use the excel data which was used in original dashboard and just create a simple dataset with 2 or 3 tabs and check if the issue is reproducible.

Hi!

I'm also having this issue. For some reason, Dashboards is protecting the workbook. Follow these steps:

https://scn.sap.com/thread/1480563

It has solved my issue although the workbook gets protected from time to time.
