Is it mandatory to use HU in inbound and outbound processes when Yard management is used in EWM...?
Hello Suraj,
Inbound delivery created in EWM has warehouse process type P110 (Putaway with palletization).
In following path of SPRO -
SPRO - SCM Extended warehouse management - Extended Warehouse Management - Cross-Process Setting - Warehouse Task - Define Warehouse process type
Here, I selected warehouse and warehouse process type combination to view details or WPT.
It shows that Storage Process field is empty.
I am not sure where to identify storage control here? Are you referring in your message above that Storage control and Storage process as one and the same?
Regards,
Chaitanya

Hi Chaitanya,
I hope above information was very helpful to you. so you can like that.
if you post screen shots all you found hope I can help you more.also you are on write track. at the same as per your description its non posc but you have palatalization so you may have HU in del and you keep in same way.
Now your yard and all does not have steps and now separate WT, But still not sure till I see your screen shot. also take item level details as well so I can see more flow and assist to move forward.

Hello Suraj,
I am trying to post goods receipt using yard management.
Below is inbound delivery in EWM.
Below - Item detail section of inbound delivery in EWM
Below - HU tab of item detail section - No HU is involved
I am able to post goods receipt without HU when I am not using Yard management.
But if yard management is used then following error appears at the time of unloading the TU.
Why this error? Is system expecting HU to be received?
Thanks for help.
Chaitanya
Hi Chaitanya,
From this very clear that there is no POSC here. its simple inbound and no POSC is here. No no TU and No steps.
go to /scwm/prdi >> Press GR and go to following function and create wt and confirm.
as this is simple POSC no HU also in this case shipping and reviving is not activated.
I hope its clear.

Hello Suraj,
Can you advice why/how you concluded that there is no POSC? I mean, what is the setting which indicates that there is no POSC?
Now, my objective is to use Yard management for receiving goods.
If I do not use TU, there will be no Yard management. Hence I am attaching the inbound delivery in EWM to the TU. I am trying to unload this TU. I have already attached the error message while unloading the stock from the TU.
Can you please advice if my understanding is not correct?
Is it not possible to use Yard management in this scenario?
Regards,
Chaitanya
Hi Chaitanya.
Check WPT there is no storage process.
If there is storage process then POSC will be there and steps will be in that.
Now your use of yard management >>
1. check you want yard with parking or without parking of TU?
if with parking then you need to activate yard + shipping and receiving.
and if you without parking then activate SnR without yard.
2. then find what all step you want and configure POSC accordingly.
no its not possible to use yard management in this scenario.
and using TU and unload function need POSC and with yard or SNr or both.

Suraj
Now that I know POSC means process oriented storage control, how do I know if my yard management for inbound and outbound processes have POSC?
What is configuration path that shows me if POSC is implemented or not?

Hi Chaitanya
If you want to go with POSC with yard then yes you need HU.
eg >> step 1 >>IB01 unload( Yard ) and IB02 decon and IB03 putaway.
