Default value for period indicator MARC PERKZ in material master (mrp3)

Hi gurus,

when creating a new material master, the system automatically compiles the period indicator field with "W" (MARC-PERKZ in MRP3 view).

I want to change it to "T".

Can anyone explain me how the system determines this value and how to configure it in customizing (if so..)?

hi,

go to transaction SU3, In parameters tab change parameter id PKZ as T.

the same transaction you can go by -  main menu bar > system > user profile > own data( or SU01)

Hello Solomon, I did it.. but it doesn't change the behaviour of the system.

When I create a new material, I always find "W" as precompiled value..

hi,

if you change in the user parameters then you have to log off and again login.

then you can see the changes.

please try login again.

I did.. logout / login, but no difference.

I guess if it could depend from some other parameters in customizing..

User parameters from SU3 work in selection screens, but not in data screens inside of a transaction.

It is SAP standard that the period gets defaulted with M, you can read about that in OSS note 512124 - MARC-PERKZ initial with new creation outside of dialog

You have the option to use a MRP profile to default another period indicator, but this requires that you enter the wanted MRP profile at the beginning of MM01.

Or you make use of the BADI BADI_MATERIAL_REF  to default the wanted period indicator

Hello,

The period indicator in MRP 3 view of the material master (MARC-PERKZ). SAP delivered default is M when material is created at plant level

Create a MRP profile via MMD1. There you can set period indicator to T and have it default to material master creation.

Apart from SU3 user specific settings , can you please let us know what is the config that defaults Period Indicator in MRP3 view ?

MRP Profile or Forecast profile not using .

Hi Davide,

Are you using forecasting profile ? If so, pease check your forecast profile in MP81 and change the default value of forecast model from W to T.
