Hello there,
Has anyone of you ever to use the new SUM SP14 ??
in the past until SP13 , the SUM was startet with the user sidadm and with with the command
./STARTUP
With SP14 that should be made with the user root and use the command
./STARTUP Confighostagent SID
Is this right?
i asked because i get this window, when i start the SUM with user root and ./STARTUP Confighostagent SID
Gruß
Toni
Hi Antonio,
Yes, use new command STARTUP Confighostagent <SID> as user root and then start common UI in browser.

Hello Antonio,
Have you already tried to logon with http://<ip_address>/lmsl/sumabap/<SID>/doc/sluigui/
Any screen returned?

Ning Tong
Hi Ning Tong,

logon with http://<ip_address>/lmsl/sumabap/<SID>/doc/sluigui/
That is working !

I faced the same issue while launching the SUM URL. Solution is to make sure sapHostExec service running under local system account and not under sidadm. Restart the tool from first ,it should work!!

Hi - We have also faced the same issue with SUM1.0 patch 16 SP7 . We solved the issue after following the below steps .
Step 1 : register Host agent with SUM
cd /usr/sap/<SID>/SUM
./STARTUP confighostagent <SID>
Step 2: Restart the SAP Host Agent using the following commands:
cd /usr/sap/<SID>/SUM
<HOSTAGENT directory>/exe/saphostexec -restart
Step 3: Open a web browser window and in the address bar, enter the following URL:
https://<hostname>:1129/lmsl/sumabap/<SID>/doc/sluigui
OR , If the SSL has not been configured, use http instead of https at the beginning of the URL and use port 1128:
http://<hostname>:1128/lmsl/sumabap/<SID>/doc/sluigui
Step 4 :In the dialog box that appears, enter the user name <sid>adm and the password.
Thanks ,
Harsh

Hi,
I had been receiving the "internal server error" in Internet explorer when trying to launch SLUIgui. I checked and found in the dev_saphostexec file in the work directory of sap hostagent the following message:
"User <sid>adm has not been granted the requested logon on this computer". I found that the user <sid>adm, which for us is a domain user was part of a group which was added to the "Deny logon locally" in windows local security policy, user assignment. After removing the <sid>adm from this group it worked fine for me. The key is that this user used to access SLuigui should be a part of "Allow logon locally" and should not be a part of "Deny logon locally". Both these conditions should be true.

Hello Antonio,
From the picture it is seen that your host agent version is lower then required.
Check below central SUM note for SP14.
2084104 - Central Note - Software Update Manager 1.0 SP14 [lmt_005]
-------------------------< I030847 JUN/18/15 >-------------------------
Install or Update SAP Host Agent to the minimum supported version
The SAP Host Agent is a tool for monitoring and controlling SAP instances and non-SAP instances, operating systems, and databases. As part of an SAP instance, the SAP Host Agent is automatically upgraded with the SAP kernel. However, it can also be installed and upgraded independently from an SAP instance. Make sure that at least the relevant SAP Host Agent minimum version is present in your system. Depending on your stack type, use at least the following versions:
You can upgrade hostagent using below note.

Hello Antonio,
What is the result of the below command?
/usr/sap/hostctrl/exe # ./saphostctrl -function ExecuteOperation -name versioninfo
Can you send the new error screen?
Are you using "/usr/sap/<SID>/SUM" folder for SUM?
I think you have checked the prererquisites under Update Guides 5.3 Starting the Software Update Manager chapter. But let me remind again also.
"
● Your system has at least the minimum supported SAP Host Agent version mentioned in SAP Note 2084104
on your remote SCS instance and on all additional application server instances, if your system has any.
● On the host where you want to start the UI, at least Java 6 must be installed.
