Composite Provider Types in BW on HANA

Dear Experts,

Can some one please help to understand the use cases for below three types of Composite providers available in BW on HANA

1. Central CompositeProvider

2. Adhoc CompositeProvider

3. Local CompositeProvider

Additionally can we still create CompositeProviders in BW system? ( I understand that CompositeProviders can now created using BWMT available in HANA Studio)

Hi Khader,

Please refer to a good explanation of the different types in SAP Help.

It is recommended to use the (Central) CompositeProvider from now onwards. Please refer to the blog and the document for more information.

Hi Khader,

yes, the composite Providers can be created at the backend in RSLIMOBW and also in BWMT in HANA studio.

The main difference: in CP in BWMT the HANA views can be directly used in modeling CP, whereas at the backend in RSLIMOBW, those HANA views cannot be used directly but we can use HANA models in Virtual Provider(VP) and then that VP can be used in CP.
