Please go through the snippet from sapnote 2087323 - SYB: Important solved problems for SAP Applications running on SAP ASE

ABAP Kernel 7.41 memory leak

Due to an SAP ABAP Kernel memory leak issue, the SAP ASE database server can
be indirectly affected and produce the following symptoms:

Client connections fail to be established with ODBC driver error 30012 /
short dumps DBIF_RSQL.

  1. The database server suffers from paging, time slices, or spinlock panic
    shutdowns.
  2. The database server vanishes without any forewarning as a result of OOM (out
of memory) agent on Linux OS.

This memory leak has been fixed and is described in SAP Note 2036902 - Open SQL patch
collection
. We strongly recommend following the instructions in this SAP Note.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Prithviraj.

Hello,

From the dev_disp trace provided earlier:

*** ERROR => SAPLOCALHOST=<localhost> [dpxxdisp.c   13000]

*** DP_FATAL_ERROR => DpMsAttach: incorrect value for SAPLOCALHOST

*** DISPATCHER EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN ***

Verify the SAPLOCALHOST parameter at the profiles .

Isaías

Thank you

I added the missing variables in Profiles and it worked.

SAPLOCALHOST = <hostname>

Thank You all for your response.

Now I am getting another error!

"Cannot find executables sapcontrol at these locations:"

Hi,

Please check if env variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH is set.

You can go through the below sap note for more details...

1916610 - <sid>adm user is unable to execute sapcontrol

Hello Meghraj,

I'm glad to have helped!

Since I provided the answer, I believe that "correct answer" is the correct assignment, not "helpful answer".

Please close this thread as well, as it is sill marked as "not answered".

Hi Meghraj,

can you please update the startsap**.logs and sapinst_dev.log here.

Also provide us with the dev_w0 & dev_disptacher logs from your work directory of the instance.

Thanks.
