Hi ,
We are working on upgrade of a 2 node Oracle RAC database from version 11.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.4
Unfortunately, during SBP - one of the nodes went into an inconsistent state and is waiting to be recovered.
A question occured during this time. Is it possible to complete the upgrade successfully on just a single node leaving the other node down ?
Is it ok If we complete the upgrade on the problematic node at a later point of time ?
Thanks,
Suneeth
Hi Suneeth,
I think it is possible, because oracle has even one node RAC, which makes RAC more extendible.
You can try to move the problematic from grid and then add it back later.
However I do not have any experience on this, but technically it is possible!
Best regards,
James

Hi Suneeth,
Do you have problem during catsbp.sql step ? if yes, I always run this statement with with non cluster mode by change parameter alter system set cluster_database=false scope=spfile; and restart the database before run this statement. I change back to cluster after the statement finished successfully.
Best Regards,
Indra
