Hi,
I am new in SAP PI. My TL is planning to move PI 7.1 to PO 7.4 version. I have a doubt
what is the difference between Single stack and Dual stack in PI. When we choose single stack and when we go dual stack.
and When we go IDoc adapter ?
please explain any body.

Hi Soma,
what is the difference between Single stack and Dual stack in PI
Single stack installation comprises SAP PI,NWBPM and NWBRM in single SID.
Some features of single stack are
-All processing AAE(Advanced adapter Engine)
-no abap mapping
- no parameterised mapping
- no ccbpm
- only integrated configuration available
When we choose single stack and when we go dual stack.
Refer the below link
When to go For IDOC Adapter?
When you IDOC scenarios.Regarding IDOC Scenarios refer the below link

Hello Soma,
One specific difference is that, when you choose Non-central adapter engine, the interface is always dual stack. And when you choose Central adapter engine it can be dual or single stack depending on your performance requirement.
In case of single stack you use ICOs (Integrated Configurations) for AAE (Advanced Adapter Engine) which bypasses the Integration Engine, thereby increasing performance about 4 times.
Other than this NW BPM involves single stack, and ccBPM involves dual stack.
