Diagnostics Agent need to install in solution manager

Dear Team,

We have fresh installed the solman server 7.1sp13.

Doing the activity of system preparation step in solman server .

Can we need to install Diagnostic agent in solution manager also or only need to install in managed (satellites system) only?

Kindly advise.

Hi Imran,

Yes you need to install them at both solman and manged system including host agent at both servers.

I am not sure what exactly you are asking but if you need to find P4 port then check the second link i have provided and search P4

it has all the steps to find it.

Hi Imran,

you need to open the below link (as per ur system)

http://<solmal_msg_server_host>:<j2ee_msg_server_http_port>/msgserver/text/logon

so use the above link to find out value for P4 port for ur case....kindly please first understand with the documentation like your SCS port and fill in this url with server details which will open details to find P4

normally 50004 is ur P4 port but you need to confirm it.

yes, you have to install Diagnostic agent in solution manager to because It establish connection between SAP Solution Manager as the managed system.  I.A

Note that with the Diagnostics Agent installation package 7.20 or higher, downloadable from the SAP Service Marketplace, the SAP Host Agent is automatically installed or upgraded, but in the scope of Solution Manager 7.1, you must nevertheless upgrade the SAP Host Agent as explained above.
