COGI - Goods issue posting for whse number XXX storage type yyy not allowed

We are getting below cogi error for 261 -Consumption for order from warehouse for a material  

"Goods issue posting for whse number XXX storage type yyy not allowed"

what could be the problem ?  i have material master with correct storage type assigned and also tried the posting date.

Yes, but usually postings from IM, PP and SD  are made to interim storage types. 010 is not a natural interim storage type, 100 and 901 to 999 are such interim storage types. SAP recommendation is to restrict IM postings to any storage type which holds the physical bins.

Based on that I think your storage type has a flag to not allow IM Movements.

Go into the IMG for warehouse management, find the knot for Interface Inventory managment and then to the task Goods movement IM not allowed.

There you should find the flag which causes the error you have

This is for WM storage type and is not interim storage type.

Why do you want directly issue from a storage type that is not an interim storage type?

Could you please share the process steps which you are following and also please share the screenshot of WM movement type 261 (LE---WM-----Activities---Transfers----Define movement type)
