Dear SCN Members,
We want to do a Client Copy from Q system to DEv system (same client: 400)
I have a question regarding Version Management of developed object. in SAP the version management of developed objects is ONLY availabelle in the system where is developed ..also in DEV system....
Question1: After client copy is the Version Management gone?
Questions 2: Version Management cand be secured before Client Copy?
Thank you!
Andy
Hi Andy ,
Agree with Rehman , but all copy profiles are not client specific
There is Client depended ( Client specific ) copy profiles eg : SAP _ALL and Client independent ( Cross client like ) copy profiles Eg SAP_EXPA .
If you choosing any of of the client specific copy profile you don not need to worry about the version management .
Thanks,
Manu

Hi,
As per my understanding
If you are doing a client copy, then I do not think that there is a need to do worry about the version management as the repository objects are not changed.
If you are planning for a system copy/refresh of the entire Q to the development, you should follow SAP Note#130906 - How can versions be transported?
Please correct me if I am wrong!
Thanks,
Mofizur

Hi Andy
Question1: After client copy is the Version Management gone?
Questions 2: Version Management can be secured before Client Copy?
Before starting the client copy you can maintenance the same version in Qas. You can transport the objects from Dev to Qas and then perform the client copy from Qas to Dev.
Refer the SAP Note for versions transports.
