Project Type

Hello Gurus,

I would like to ask you help regarding creation of Project type.  We have a new project to expand the values of existing project type which is to include a value for proposed project. Can we still change the status of project type once it has been released? What is the impact of changing project type to the existing WBS?

Hi Janice,

Project Type is Editable even after release also. This is standard behaviour.

System will allow you change, but if there are any validation or substitution based on your project type, which might affect or restrict you on changing the project type.

Hi Janice,

As mentioned by Maria, you can always add new project types in customizing and can change the project type on the project..

What you need to be aware of is

1. Is there any downstream application which is using this field in their reporting..

2. Is there any BI report which uses the old project types?

3. Any substitution or Validations are in place for project type..
