Can anyone tell me how the forecast model calculates

Hi,

Can anyone tell clearly how the forecast model calculates based on historical consumption and changes the re-order point .Since my client needs the safety stock and maximum stock level also to be changed based on the forecast execution.

If the difference between models is explained, then it would be more helpful.

Regards,

Hi

In Material master at forecasting tab, you can define Historical period and historical period for calculation of forecasting.

At MRP1, set the MRP type as forecast based planning.

After the forecast execution, system will consider the consumption of historical period and then create the re-order level automatically.

Had you tried to find this info in help.sap.com?

I found this link just by using these 3 words in Google: forecast calculation sap

Hi Jurgen,

Thanks for the link, but i tried that link before posting this question itself. But my scenario is something different i guess.

Also i need to know how the formulas clearly help us in updating the values in material master like what value will be used for g,t,v etc....

Thanks,
