Hi experts,
we want to use the DGP for our ChaRM-Projects. Now we have to distribute the CTS-Plugin.
As this needs to be tested and therfore goes through every instance of the managed systems from DEV->QAS->prePRD->PRD, this will take some time.
Now the question:
is it possible to use the DGP-functions on the respective levels where the plugin is distributed already or is it necessary to have the plugin distributed in all systems of the track?
Example:
The plugin is now in DEV and QAS but not installed in prePRD and PRD of the respective track.
Can we use export check already?
Regards
Thorben
Hi,
the DGP checks basically consist of 5 separate checks: change-, export-, re-assignment-, predecessor- and immanent downgrade check. The first three checks are already available without any CTS plugin software distributed – they are purely based on ChaRM/QGM. So in short: yes, you can already use the export check – even without completely distributed plugins.

Hi Christian,
thank you for your response!
I have found that document a while ago and am aware of the other four checks and the prerequesits by now:
If you want to use the predecessor check and the imminent check, you have installed and configured the central Change and Transport System plug-in on the managed systems (including development, quality assurance, and production systems). For more information, see SAP Note 1674628.
We are now using DGP with the documented four checks configured individually for our tracks.
But what do you mean by "change"-check?
Regards
Thorben
Hi again,
by 'change' checks, I basically meant the cross system object lock based check during editing/changing objects. If configured, this check warns/intercepts, if objects are touched which are still being propagated to the production system.
