Hello Sivakumar,

There will not be configuration for such things. You have to use your own methods to record and capture this information.

1. Change the Notification technical object to Electrical equipment if it is an Electrical breakdown (say a motor), accordingly to a Mechanical Equipment (say a Pump), if it is a Mechanical Breakdown. This you can do at the time of completion. This option works on the assumption that you have maintained the respective Equipment categories.

2. If the above is not suitable to you and you want to record somewhere in the Notification that this B/Dn is Elcetrical or Mechanical, then use the Sortfield in the Location tab. If Location tab is not there then you can even use Revision field by creating Revisions (OIOB) Electrical and Mechanical without giving Dates.

3. Even you can use Coding catalog (D or any custom catalog type) field in the Notification Header for this, if it is idle.

Hope this helps

Hi Siva

In addition to the above, you can also Planner Groups. You can define Mechanical and Electrical planner groups and when you create the notification, you can mention the corresponding planner group.

Hello Siva,

The central message is there can be several types of methods to categorize a Breakdown job. Several ways have been told. Still you can find a way away from these. It is the question of how much we know about the various fields of these objects. If your Order is Notification based, then the various fields suggested in Notification will address your query, if the Order is stand-alone then such Orders can be categorized through similar fields available in Order (like Sort field, Revision as expressed earlier etc).

In my experience, the best way to record the type of breakdown is to create "Damage" (catalog type "C") catalog code groups for Mechanical, Electrical, Material, External, or whatever others you need. Within those groups, define individual catalog codes such as Wear, Out Of Balance, Misalignment, Clearance, etc. Create a catalog profile including these code groups and assign this profile to your notification type.

The correct place to store this information is in the notification, but it can also be entered while in an order using the Notification-specific tabs available as part of the order's header data.

You can use the Coding catalog which apears above the long-text box.

You need to create some catalogs first (type D via QS41), then update your catalog profile to include catalog type D (OQN6).

Hi Siva,

In the Notification, you can use Catalogs to determine it.

In order, you can decide based on the work centre (header)
