unable to open an attachment in MDG

dears,

can you help on this issue , and advise how  it can be resolved

when there is a new change requests, the approvers across the workflow cant open the attachment that was uploaded in the change request if it was an outlook email (any other file type works fine) no mater what program i use to open it doesn't open .

is there a way to resolve this ?

Hi Mashail,

Standard there is no relationship maintained for the extension MSG to a MIME type (used by the browser). See table SDOKMIME. You can create your own entry in table SDOKMIME_C for the extension MSG.

Do you know if there is any restriction on the file type in your system? Where is the user trying to open the attachment; from within SAP workflow inbox? Try sending the SAP user an e-mail with the same attachment and see if it opens up. If it does not, then, you will need to talk with your Basis team to see why that file extension does not work.

hi Abdullah,

the user tried to open it through the MDG tool itself, and there is no restriction on it  .

this problem only occur if the attachment is an email, other file types are open normally .

the only way that i was able to open the file is downloading it and change the extension to .MSG but this is not a practical solution

Again, do you have the same issue with this file if you try to open it from the sap inbox (transaction SBWP)?
