Roland,

Guten tag!

Thanks so much for responding back to me.

Have always followed your series of guidance documents.

As you know I didn't install SP8 version. I had installed a base version which was very low.

SAP IQ didn't come out till SP8 I think. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hi,

There was SP04, SP08 and now SP10 for SAP IQ 16.0. As you are doing a fresh Installation you can start directly with a full Install of SP10.03 as stated in the Document - SAP First Guidance - SAP-NLS Solution with SAP IQ | SCN

Hi,

You can use a command line interface with "dbisql + nogui" as follows.

Ex)

[hpita:/bjeon]dbisql -c "uid=dba;pwd=sql;eng=HPIA16" -nogui

(DBA)> select @@version

@@version

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SAP IQ/16.0.102.1257/20057/P/sp10.03/ITANIUM/HP-UXi 11.31/64bit/2015-08-26 10:10:16

(1 rows)

Execution time: 0.361 seconds

If you make a odbc file, you can connect to IQ using dsn list.

1) create .odbc.ini file

2) write down the information of IQ

ex) .odbc.ini ($SYBASE/.odbc.ini)

[dba]

uid=dba

pwd=sql

eng=HPIA16

dbn=HPIA16

Commlinks=tcpip{host=10.34.193.108;port=2638}

3) connect to IQ using dsn.

> dbisql -c "dsn=dba" -nogui

After the installation of the server when I use the above command I get this message.

Could not connect to the database.

Database server not found.

SQLCODE=-100 ODBC 3 state="08001"

I need to create a database right before I can start logging.

Yes you can start with IQ demo database.

e.g mkdir mydemo

cp $SYBASE/IQ-16_0/demo/mk*  /work/mydemo

cd /work/mydemo

./mkiqdemo.sh

it will create IQ demo database.  Once IQ database have been created.  You can edit iqdemo.cfg  for customizing IQ server name and port info and then start IQ server

start_iq @iqdemo.cfg iqdemo.db

eng  is  IQ  server name  not  the host machine name

Where can I find the IQ server name?

dblocate is the command for viewing the servername/enginename.

What version of IQ did you installed?   You could you use SAP IQ Cockpit, bundled with IQ.  hostname should be your IQ server host machine and  port should the port on which IQ sever is listening.

For SCC you would be need to install SCC IQ plugin on IQ server host machine.

I couldn't find COCKPIT inside $SYBASE.

When I try to do like this : cd $SYBASE/COCKPIT* it doesn't work for me.

I installed IQ 16.

Saroj,

We haven't yet gone to version 16 sp 08 so that's the reason probably we don't have COCKPIT. What do you think how we can install the plugin?

on AIX (IQ 16 sp04.04)  I do  see SCC-3_3 directory.   Did you did typical install, typical install does install SCC as well

Hi Saroj,

As you know older ones had SCC-3.2. I didn't have the installation for AIX as well.

When I tried to download separately SCC-3.3 I didn't find one for AIX.

Has it been stopped?

Hi Saroj,

Lots of problems, now finally I have installed SAP IQ server suite 16.0 SP10.02 64 bit on AIX.

Now when I open

http://<hostname>:4282/cockpit/# I cannot login using DBA/sql

I am not sure what is wrong.

I cannot follow the guidance document since I am going directly to 16.0.

Can you please make the documentation more clear please since for starters like me I am struggling to get things fixed.

Hi Saroj,

In the cockpit how is the system populated in the drop down the initial login screen where we key in DBA/sql.

Also one more point with the current version IQ 16 SP10.02 will SCC not come by default. Right now I only see COCKPIT-4. Don't see any SCC directory.

Yes, now from SAP IQ 16 10.x  only IQ cockpit is bundled with IQ installation..  IQ cockpit is local to IQ server host machine.  IQ cockpit  auto discovery discovers the IQ server running on the host machine.  System drop box does show  IQ servers located by auto discovery

I did the steps for the IQ DEMO and have started the database but there is a problem I cannot see the database in the drop down in the login screen for the cockpit.

Hi Saroj,

Thanks a ton for the response. How do I login into the database.

Right now I cannot get the drop down in COCKPIT working.

dbisql is saying not connected to the database.

Hi

But I have seen there is server name it's asking not the database name, and that server name already selected by default on the login screen.

It should be your IQ server name , you will need to login with your IQ server login default DBA/sql

Is dblocate able to locate your demo database? If yes, then  stop IQ server and restart it .  Stop IQ cockpit and restart IQ cockpit. Clear browser cache, stop and re-lunch browser and wait few min for automatic discovery to work and  connect to IQ cockpit. System drop down should have  your IQ server

Regarding SCC support on AIX:  SCC is only supported on Linux,  solaris and management for the full management.  Because of JRE limitations on AIX64, SCC is not supported on aix64

Hi Saroj,

Thanks a ton. It got discovered today i didnt do anything .

I thought we needed to stop and start cockpit for the auto discovery to work.

What would be my next steps?

I would like to learn IQ from NLS perspective.
