Access Request Approval notes cannot be saved.

From the SAP Access Request Approval Page if a user enters a note and then closes the screen, a warning message is received "Application contains unsaved data which may be lost.  Do you want to continue without saving the changes?".  If the user responds Ok the note entered is lost.  If the user responds Cancel, the user is returned back to the request approval page and cannot exit.  The only time we have found notes to be saved is when selecting either Submit or Another Option.  The user in this case does not want to send the request to the next stage but instead to enter a note and will return to Submit later.

Is there a way to enable Save for Notes for to add a note another way?

Yes,

this is the behavior..

when you enter notes it will get saved either by submitting for approval or rejection etc.

not by closing request, since you do not have save option.
