MII PCo Connector data server cannot get the agent list

Former Member

Hi Experts,

I've created a demo scenario:

  • MII 15.0
  • PCo 15
  • MatrikonOPC simulation

all software above installed on the same server: Windows server 2008.

I created a source system in PCo which type is: OPC DA agent

and also created the Agent Instance.

In MII Data server, I tried to create the PCo Connector server.

I entered the url : http://serverIP:50050/PCoManagement

and then entered the Windows user name and password.

The problem is: There's no Agent Instance in the list !!!

Do you have any idea, what's wrong?

I searched the SCN, and found that maybe because of the PCo core component is not installed.

How to check the PCo core component is installed or not?

I tried another way, to changed the OPC server simulator to Kepware:

  • MII 15.0
  • PCo 15
  • Kepware

The situation is same: Cannot get the Agent Instance list in MII data server creation.

Could you help me please?

Thank you!

Feng Sihao

HI,

In the Agent Instance, on the Query Ports tab, did you check the box next to SAP MII and set up the port that the Agent Instance listens on for MII Data Server connections?

b.t.w,

How to check the PCo core component is installed or not?

If I install the Opc server and PCo in different server.

I think this skill is needed.

Thank you!

PCo installer provides all the core components to support OPC connectivity, whether it is via OPC DA or OPC UA.

If PCo and OPC Server are installed on the same server, OPC DA is the simplest configuration to make. If PCo and OPC Server are installed on separate servers, OPC UA is preferred, but OPC DA is still supported but requires Microsoft Distributed COM (DCOM) configuration to enable this.

Most customers install OPC Server and PCo on the same server to keep the configuration to keep configuration simple.
