Parameter values:

  • PROT = HTTPS
  • PORT = <free port, for example 420$$>
  • TIMEOUT = <number, 240 is default>
  • PROCTIMEOUT = <number, 600 is default>

what is Free number

can you write down how  to be write this above mentioned  values in the parameter value. I dont want to make any mistake

Hi Abhijeet

HTTP is already there right? so i need to create parameter vale for https as you explained earlier. so my question is my parameter value in RZ10 will be ( i dont know what is my http port no)

icm/server_port_1     = PROT=HTTPS,PORT=?

so what will be my HTTPS port no

1. it will be 8001 in your case as HTTPS port.

With the questions you are asking, I am a little curious to know

1. For what reason are you building this SOLMAN System.

2. How you got softwares. Are you a partner of SAP or customer of SAP. Can you share your OSS ID number ?

3. Have you read TADM10 & TADM12.

Please do answer.

Thanks

Abhijeet

Hi Abhijeet,

yes i have done the sap basis course in 2012 from ATOS SAPNW 7.0 with oracleDB but no solman that time in the basis course.I dont have any work exposure in SAP environment . Currently I  installed solman in my personal system for training purpose. So  I am just trying to edify and gain knowledge myself.. I used work for a company in Dubai as System Support engineer for 7 years now i am looking for a career in SAP

And concerning oss user i have a friend who is a principle consultant who downloads all required software's for me from sap market place. I am extremely sorry i cant share the credentials even i dont have it. I hope you understand the scenario.

Thanks and Regards,

Ibrahim

Well I can understand your situation, although what you are doing is illegal, but will surely help you as i strongly believe "knowledge is for free".

1. Study TADM10 & TADM12 thoroughly. For Oracle DB, TADM51 or 56 not sure (google it).

Its must, as it makes your fundamentals strong.

I interviewed people with 5+ years of work-ex and have seen, they lack basics.

2. I am not sure how job market functions in your area but Experience is weighed alot.

Coming back to your first question (assuming you have covered point 1 above)

1. in RZ10 you have to maintained a parameter for HTTPS -> save and activate it. and then bounce. only then it will get activated.

2. Enable SSL in strustsso2. You can get it in the link I shared earlier.

Thanks

Hi Abhijeet,

i don't see HTTPS. You need HTTPS not HTTP parmeter to be defined. HTTP comes by default.

Please go though help.sap.com

Hi Abhijeet,

The nwa is working fine with j2ee_admin. I have performed what you have suggested changed in SICF-webdynpro- display settings. the browser is showing with same error

In smicm i can see only http and smtp is activated. Can you help me how can i activate https in smicm and ssl. your help is highly appreciated.

And as far as concerning IE compatibility issue I cannot downgrade IE 11 to IE 8 in Win server 2012 R2 which sap solution manager is currently running

You don't need to access the system from inside the server where is running.

You should point your workstation browser to the SOLMAN server address. Also, you don't need to downgrade, but on IE press key ALT and choose TOOLS -> Compatibility View settings, and add the address to the list.

Follow this link and setup https.

Configure Single Sign-On in SAP Solution Manager of Partner - SAP Solution Manager - SAP Library

And then, if you still get blank screen ie a logon screen in transaction SOLMAN_SETUP without any logon happening it simply means the server doesn't have a FQDN (a Fully Qualified Domain name).

Thanks

Hi,

You should also install Introscope Enterprise Manager in your Solman server and adjust VM parameters according to this Wiki.

You have to tell IE to use Compatibility Mode for your SOLMAN web address, or use an older version of IE.

Also, you need to have FLASH player installed.

I had this problem too.

Key question:-

1. host:port/nwa -> is it working ? with j2ee_admin

2. Did you get "DNS" error or or the host is a fully qualified domain name ? check host file entry.

3. Do you really need HTTPS or even HTTP is fine ? Depends on your requirement.

If you don't need HTTPS use below link, caution : functionality will be limited

If you need HTTPS

Setup SSL/HTTPS :- in SMICM activate HTTPS service with a port:- activate sapcryptolib in and SSL in tx STRUSTSSO2.

If still an issue then activate webdrynpro services. There is a note with the list of services.

Thanks

Hello Ibrahim

To overcome the SNC issue and SSO login you have to activate the Active Directory Services and SLL and SLC to be installed in SAP Application Server

Maintain Administration User details in Active Directory Services then only SSL will be worked

HI,

Solution Manager have a lot of automated tasks, almost all of them done during SOLMAN_SETUP.

Before that your need to install the last SP, and to do that you need to configure the Transport tool and path. So pretty much no more than this... If you like, you can install the master note for your particular SP level, but usually this is done during the SOLMAN setup.

MM
