single srm client to several ecc clients of the system ID

hello experts

I'd like to know if it won't have any issue integrating, say SRD100 to two ECC clients, say ECD100 & ECD200.

how would it be different to integrating SRD100 to an entirely new system like ECQ instead of adding a new client under ECD?

Thank you.

Dex

Hi Dex,

it is OK to integrate SRM with multiple ECC backend systems.
Please maintain the corresponding backend links in table bbp_backend_dest and sm59.
I don't see much difference in maintenance or configuration between multiple ECC backend systems and multiple ECC backend clients.

Hi Ivy

Thanks, how about vendor & material data maintenance?
Any caution here I need to take note of?

Appreciate your inputs.

Hi Dex

I am listing some of the challenges which you might face ..:there could be more as well

- Refresh of the  system is also challenging you need to take backup of all the system at the sametime.

-Data visibility also important. User should not be able to see the documents belonging to other backend system. Roles should not have any open value like * in the purchase organisation or purchasing group.

- While replicating vendors from ECC to SRM, you have the option to retain the same vendor number in SRM. In this case Business partner number is same as Vendor number. Check out the input options in txn BBPGETVD.

-If you have different number for the same vendor in SRM and ECC, go into VENMAP.

For the ECC Vendor number, get the PARTNER_GUID. Go into table BUT000. Enter the PARTNER_GUID . you will get the Business partner number for this Vendor

-Even if they have same BP number, they will never share same GUID value so should be fine .

Hi Dex,

For vendor replication in one client scenario, please read the following two wiki pages:

http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/x/GwVmG

http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/x/tQBBGQ

This is quite different from normal scenario.

Hi Dex,

For material replication in one client scenario, I suggest you download the configuration guide as below:

support.sap.com/swdc

click 'Documentation'
choose 'S' - 'Supplier Relationship Management'
click 'SRM Guides' and then click 'I Agree'
      choose 'SAP SRM Server 7.0'
choose 'Configuration Guides for SAP SRM 7.0'
In it, please download document "SAP SRM 7.0: SAP SRM on One Client with SAP ERP".

Please note material replication is quite different in one client scenario, so I suggest you read this document to configure this.

Ivy

Dear Dex,

I would like you to have a look to the following discussions:

For ECC with different clients: http://scn.sap.com/thread/3245715

For multiple ECCs: https://scn.sap.com/thread/1631345

In both of them various issues are described from users and engineers with experience on these topics.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Martin
