Unable to change the size of Filter Component

I have a dashboards file that contains many objects.  I am trying to add a filter selector but I am unable to change the size of the filter selector so that the text in the filter can be displayed fully.  However, if I create a new dashboard file and insert a filter selector, I am able to change the size of the filter selector.

Any thoughts on the problem?  Help would be much appreciated.

There must be some problem associated with the filter component in the mentioned dashboard. We had a similar situation and we created a copy filter and deleted the old one. It was working fine after that
