Hi,
For customers who do not have issues with exhaustion of Tax Codes; why they need to migrate to TAXINN? They can create a new GST condition type with a relevant tax code and use the TAXINJ procedure; am I missing something? Thanks to please share your thoughts.

Hi Madhu,
Thanks for a very prompt reply; really appreciate it.
I am interpreting your answer as a confirmation that TAXINJ can be used with new condition type for GST.
Are you suggesting that with TAXINN, we won't be needing Tax Codes at all? Please help by providing the downsides of using TAXINN, for examples, would the condition master records would get considerably increased? SAP FI team or Tax team would have no control as anyone will be able to create or change condition records (VK11/VK12) who has authorization for SD pricing condition modifications.

Hi Balraj,
First of all, unlike MM/FI, tax procedure(TAXINN & TAXINJ) doesn't have any impact on SD pricing and tax.
Well, Tax codes are an integral part of taxation process in SAP. So, tax codes are applicable in TAXINN.
Refer:
- Tax code and SAP SD - ERP Operations - SCN Wiki
- Difference between TAXINJ and TAXINN - ERP Operations - SCN Wiki
Now, after reading above post, you will understand that we use FV11 in TAXINN for maintaining tax rates along with respective tax code. Not FTXP or VK11/VK12. With FV11/FV12, you have the flexibility of maintaining multiple key combinations to derive tax rate.
As like FTXP, your finance or IDT team can have full authorisation FV11/FV12, if you desire so. More, FYI, you can have authorisation for
create or change condition records (VK11/VK12)
Hope that clarifies your doubt.
Thanks, JP
