Hi All,
We are going to upgrade SAP PI 7.1 to PO 7.4.
We have decided to install PO 7.4 Java Stack & then migrate SLD and other data from PI to PO.
Can someone one guide me the process of up-gradation & migration of data from PI to PO.
Thanks & Regards,
Chetan

Hi Chetan,
Do you want to install PO 7.4 dual stack or single stack?
If your final release will be PI 7.40 dual stack than you can go both ways - new installation and migration of your scenarios OR direct upgrade from 7.1 to 7.40.
If your goal is PI 7.40 (java only without ccBPM) or PO 7.40 (Java only with BPM/BRM) than new installation is the only option for you.
It is better to install new PO system and do the migration from SAP PI 7.1 to 7.4.
We can migrate from Double stack to single stack with the help of migration tool.
we can not migrate CCBPM process /ABAP mapping scenarios.
If you have maintained ABAP tables in SAP PI DB and accessing for transactional data, you need to move all these tables to SAP R/3.
All XI /HTTP /IDOC adapters configuration will change as per the new adapters [IDOC_AAE / HTTP_AAE].
In SLD, you can use export and import option to transport the SLD objects to the new PO system.
All the custom adapter modules you need to deploy again.

If you are going for and upgrade we need to test each interface carefully.
Decision making factors to choose upgrade or new installtion
