Comparing two universes

Hi Team,

Can someone help me in comparing and find out the missing objects from each universe. Do we have any tool to compare universes and find the difference.

PLease help.

     One option I use to export the UNX to TXT and then use a tool like UltraCompare to compare line by line.  You can always download a 30day trial copy to test.   This is one the best options I have been able to find.

Thanks for the reply..

I have a universe in 3.x with 104 pages when I download it in pdf, in 4.0 i have it of 199 pages, I need to find out the missing objects from older version in to new one so that I can add and have a standard universe in 4.0 as reference.

   Did you compare the Parameters - Summary Tab between XI 3.1 and BI4.  The PDF page export could be page size &/or fit settings.

     How did you migrate / export the Universe to BI 4 environment, did you use the UMT or Import Wizard.

Please confirm Migration Path:

• Exact version of XI 3.1 / SP ??
• Exact version of BI 4.1 / SP ??
• Database drivers used in XI 3.1
• Database drivers used in BI 4.1

XI 3.x/sp-XI3.1 sp3

BI4.0?Sp-BI4.0 sp7

Shaik,

    Use the Upgrade Management Tool from BI 4.0 w/ SP7.   Any reason why you are still running BI 4.0, you know support end for BI 4.0 Dec 31st 2015.   I would suggest updating to BI 4.1 w/ SP6.

The UMT will provide more details in term error's during migration.

What is you database ?

You are running very UNSTABLE version of BOBJ:

• Suggest updating XI 3.1 to SP7
• Suggest updating to BI 4.1 w/SP6

You can save the universes as PDF then compare the PDF files

In order to compare the pdf files I have lot of things in the universe to compare, manually its very tuff process.
