CVC's are recreated in demand planning

Hello Experts,

We have a situation wherein the CVC's are getting recreated after deletion.
These combinations are re-generated by the process chain that loads sales orders data into the Planning area through Cube.
The concerned products are not going to be planned in future and hence they should not appear in DP book.
Also, there are no active sales orders against these products in ECC.

We are currently trying to find out a way to avoid re-creation of such CVC's because deleting them every week is quite repetitive task.
Please share any inputs/suggestions on above situation.

Many thanks in advance.

Regards,
Aditi

Hello Aditi,

we had same problem. We solved it by implementing a "black list". We didn't find any other "standard solution" some years ago. Maybe it changed meanwhile, but it works so we didn't investigate again

We just implemented a routine in transformation to compare materials loaded from ERP datasource to our self-created Z-table "ZDP_DATAERASE". If a combination of material and plant is is identical to the entry in the z-table it will not be loaded into infocube. Unfortunately the z-table must be filled by someone manually in our company... we didn't have any idea how to do it automatically. The process here is as follows:

- not needed cvc has to be identified

- cvc's will be deleted

- combination of material / plant (which were deleted 1 step before) are entered in the z-Table (via SM30)

- cvc will not be created again

The advantage is that you don't need a cvc-deletion afterwards, becaus infocube has only the data you really want to have.

Disadvantage is --> it's no standard solution

Hope this helps in finding a solution for your demand.

Hi Aditi,

Please review the BW filters in place for the sales history extraction in APO. You must have pre-defined filters on fields such as Material status or document type, etc. which will prevent the extraction of such products into APO.

Alternatively, write a routine in the transformation to check if the record is obsolete or required.

Hi Aditi,

In process chain check for the step which is creating the CVC's (Program - /sapapo/rdmp_master_data ), in this step I am sure CVC's are getting created considering info-provider which is consisting of historical sales order.

To solve this issue -

1) Create another info provide filtering out the sales order which is not required (some logic)

2) Run a macro which deletes CVC based on business logic.

Hi Anil,

As I understand from the details provided by you;option 1 seems to be a development of new infoprovider dedicated for historical data and then execute process chain with infoprovider having only active SO's.

With regards to option 2; this CVC deletion activity is dynamic one i.e. selection on basis of which deletion happens keeps changing.Hence even if we build such a macro, it will not be very useful considering the business requirement of CVC deletion.

Please advise further on this.

Hi,

Second option is best as whatever CVC's are created and now if you don't want to plant them the macro and CVC deletion is best option.

Dear Aditi,

Can you please verify and confirm if you see any sales order data in APO for those mentioned recreated CVCs.

Hi Hussain,

We have checked this and there are no sales orders in APO for the mentioned recreated CVC's.

In fact, many materials have the MRP type as ND/PD.

Thank you.
