Subcontracting Challan with movement type 311 without special stocks Error

Hi All,

I am creating the subcontracting challan (J1IF01) with reference to movement type 311 (without special stocks) material document but while posting the document getting 2 line items in the initial screen 311+ and 311- why..?

It should be one line items.

we have faced same problem while doing with 641 E. but it has been resolved after applying SAP noted. check the SAP notes also for this.

Normally subcontacting challan is made from a 541 movement material document. Movement type 543 is used for reconciliation of subcontracting challan(J1IFQ). 311 movement type has two legs and it is standard functionality. You cant use this movement type for subcontracting challan.

Since you were moving the goods from one storage location to another, what you noticed is standard functionality.  That is stock has reduced in one storage location and increased in another storage location.

Why in your system subcontracting process is mapped with M Type 311? Why not 541?

Is this process within same organisation?

As you are trying to prepare challan, is that mean this is for movement of goods for subcontracting without payment of duties?

Can you elaborate the process followed?

Yes movement of stocks within the same organisation and without payment duties .

Yes, you can very well use the Standard Movement type 311 with out Special stock category for Internal Subcontracting process. You can also use 311 document as a reference to create a Chalan.

Yes, you will get two lines. Stock will be reduced in Supplying Storage location with a Negative sign and the same will be Increased in Receiving Storage location with a Positive sign. Also there would be no accounting document generated as it is a internal transfer posting and does not have valuation.
