Should disposed assets be part of data migration?
Had a question, should we consider the assets which were disposed/sold as part of legacy Assets data migration?
or should we upload them together with the other old assets and retire them manually. Appreciate your inputs on the transactions involved and the accounting entries.

According to me, it depends entirely on the client requirement. I have faced both requirements. In one issue it was required by client that he just want to move the data into SAP from Legacy system of the assets which are only active or are actually in use or having balance in the system. So here in this case the working assets are only moved to SAP and not the retired assets. But in other scenario client wanted the data about each and every asset which are purchased by Client. So in this case all the assets from legacy data is moved to SAP and the load of retired assets was done at NIL Value. i.e. The acquisition cost was shown and full amount was also deducted in accumulated depreciation making the NBV as 0.
