Hello,
I'm just fresh installed BW on hana with abap on the same server. After I've logged into system I get the message:
The UUID daemon (uuidd) is not active (code 30256). Check SAP note 1391070
I've executed the script to check possible errors.
saphana:bwpadm 6> ./check-libuuid.sh
[ check-libuuid.sh Revision : #22 $ Date : 2015/07/08 $ ]
SLES 11 (SP 3) system
libuuid package: libuuid1-2.19.1-6.48.12
uuidd package: uuid-runtime-2.19.1-6.48.12
uuidd is active.
uuidd is running on-demand (-T 300).
ERROR: uuidd running as user root!
package sapconf is not installed
Please install rpm package sapconf.
saphana:bwpadm 7>
I've checked the note 1275776 - Linux: Preparing SLES for SAP environments and I don't have the sapconf rpm package.
I´ve tried with Yast to install SAP application base but I get the previous error...
What can I do?
Regards
You need to select the radio button for 'deinstallation of ulimit' package and then select Ok - Try again. This package conflicts with the sapconf package for SAP, which is required.

Hello Paul,
I've followed your recomendation and it works. Now transaction SICK doesn't fail.Thanks.
But I checked again the check-libuuid.sh script and
[ check-libuuid.sh Revision : #22 $ Date : 2015/07/08 $ ]
SLES 11 (SP 3) system
libuuid package: libuuid1-2.19.1-6.48.12
uuidd package: uuid-runtime-2.19.1-6.48.12
uuidd is active.
uuidd is running on-demand (-T 300).
ERROR: uuidd running as user root!
sapconf-3.1-0.6.1
ERROR: uuidd runs as root but file permissions of /usr/sbin/uuidd are correct
Please stop current uuidd with 'service uuidd stop', and
if that does not work, with '/usr/sbin/uuidd -k'
Then try again.
I've tried to execute service uuidd stop and start but the service uuidd doesn't appear
service: no such service uuid
The service uuidd is not expected to run permanently. It should only run on request.
File a command "uuidgen -t" and you will see (for 5 minutes) a running uuidd which will be started by the underlaying glib-call.
The idea is to reduce the number of permanently running services.
As the SAP kernel does request lots of time-based (-t) uuids, the uuidd will run in such phases.
It will be down once the SAP kernel for a time period like 5 minutes does not request any time-based uuid.
hi Ruben,
did you check below notes if not then follow it to resolve the issue.
