IDM System Copy

Former Member

Dear Friends,

We have a requirement to copy the Production IDM system on to the QA system in order to synchronize the landscapes...The following IDM schemas do exists on both PROD and QA oracle Databases...

MXMC_OPER (147 Tables)

MXMC_RT (318 Tables)

Can we simply use the Oracle Export and Import procedure to copy the IDM schemas from source to destination? Will this be enough in order to synchronize the landscapes?

Will this procedure copy all the Scripts, Jobs, Policies and other necessary settings to run the IDM?

Truly appreciate all your support and response...

Thank you,

Nikee Cheella

Hello Matt,

Thank you. I have gone thru the documentation of which you have pointed...Much appreciate it...

I am also looking for a DB level system copy procedure if there is any?

Thank you,

Nikee,

To the best of my knowledge, that approach does not currently have any best practices dictated by SAP (I do not work for SAP so this is not an official statement)

My commendation is to work with your DBAs on this. This is a very delicate matter and I would not want to lead you down the wrong path as I am not a DBA.

However, whatever approach you choose, I will say this, make sure you have good backups and have tested this thoroughly before doing any work with Productive systems.  I'm pretty sure you know that already, but it bears repeating...

Matt

Binoy,

I'd suggest checking for a later version or opening a Ticket.
