What is the person who handles queries about these modules,tests the scenarios,create new users,change processes called ? What is production server,development server and quality server ? What exactly is done on this servers ?

Hi Shantanu,

Take the example of an organization that manufactures a car, to produce anything they need many Components. Like it's Engine, Steering, and lot of other things.

Lets assume that they procure all the parts externally and they assemble the cars.

Once they decide to go for production they will procure all the components. Procuring the Materials required from the vendor is responsibility of MM (MATERIAL MANAGEMENT) Associates.

Once they have got all the required materials, the production starts, Inventory issues the required quantity of materials for the Production.

This Is where there is integration Between MM AND PP.

Once the production team has received all the required materials they will produce the required Quantity of product and they will handover them to MM associates, again an integration point between MM and PP.

The final product is kept in the storage location. It is now Ready for getting sold,

When a customer places order, then SD (SALES AND DISTRIBUTION) associates will raise a sales order and they will create a delivery document.

Once the Delivery Document is saved, MM associates will Deliver the product to the customer. This is where there is an integration Between SD and MM.

Every finance related transaction of any module will touch the FI Module.

FI is the core and it is integrated with other modules,

INPUT-->PROCESS-->OUTPUT

Input = Man (HR module), Machine & Method (PP module),Material (MM),Money (FI)

Process = Manufacturing or Service

Output = Product (Sale = SD Module) or Service (Service Management)

This is where the process related integration is, you can check out the table involved in these modules and can see that they have data share that happens that keeps them integrated.

Now to answer your other question,

There are three environments,

-Development where the initial rounds of development of any process takes place. Once the development is done then this process is transferred to Quality

-Quality is where the testing takes places, it is here where if the process is made according to the requirement by the client or not. Once this is also signed off as valid then the entire process is moved to Production where it is our Go-live and client is introduced to the process and he can use it there onward. There is support even after go-live to help the client with any upgrades or modifications in the process.
