PR with text -Release date

Hi,

When I create PR item without mateial(entering only text),how the system will calculate release date(tab:Quantities/Date)?Any tips please? Thank you.

I know that  when I create PR with mateial,release date will be  be calucalted based on planned delivery date.

System will take the PR creation date as release date when you create a requisition without material master.

yes we have one day as processing time  in IMG for this my plant.

I've just checked the same in my system. System is picking all dates as current date.

Can you please share screen shot of PR.

Also check is there any badi or exit implemented for requisition.

Your delivery date is showing 09.05.2016. Why ?

As per you delivery date and processing time, system is calculating the release date.

You need to focus on the delivery date. Why it is showing a date which falls under next year.

I do undestand that release date means the PR should be converted into PO before that date.Am I right?

Yes. It does mean PR should be released on/before that date. So that material will be available on the date when it is needed.

If User does not make approve(release strategy) before or  on release date,then how material will be available on required date??

If you do not release the requisition, then you can't process further (like create PO with regards to this requisition). So material will be not available on required date.

By the way, this is just a calculation date from system. You can proceed further as per your business scenario.

Hi,

As you said for material- the release date  calculated based on planned delivery date but in case of service or with consumption PO with entering text- system auto calculate the release date  by keeping planned delivery date as ZERO value.

You can try with following options to know how system calculate  release date:

Option-1:=>

Delivery Date : 30.09.2015

Request date  : 02.09.2015

Release Date  : 30.09.2015

Pl. Deliv. Time: 0

Option-2:=>

Delivery Date : 30.09.2015

Request date  : 02.09.2015

Release Date  : 29.09.2015

Pl. Deliv. Time: 1

Option-3:=>

Delivery Date : 30.09.2015

Request date  : 02.09.2015

Release Date  : 23.09.2015

Pl. Deliv. Time: 7

Hi Jaheer,

The release date is based on:

o   The purchasing department processing time defined for the plant

o   The planned delivery time from the material master record or purchasing info record

o   The delivery date

o   The goods receipt processing time from the material master record

In your case release date will be same as the delivery date.
