BO4 - Best practice for using an existing connection fro new universe - Information Design Tool

Hi,

Using bo4 sp08 and creating a new universe in a local project and want to use an existing connection which exist in our respoistory.

We have created a new local folder and new business layer and new data foundation layer.

We have copied the connection.cns from another local project to this new local porjcet folder.

Is this the best way to make use of an existing connection for a new universe or is there a better way to do it?

Hi,

I would have : created a new local project

browsed the repository, located the existing connection

then imported the secured connection  to the local project (create a shortcut )

Assume no harm in copying connection shortcuts between local projects.

Is this the case?

Hi,

You can copy the CNS between the projects or can create connections short cuts from repository connections.

both way you can work.
