Hi Gurus,

We have ECC6.0 EHP7 system with HANA database installed. And recently our HANA db server USALVLHANADB was moved to another data center. Since then ECC system is not able to connect with hana db.

SAP HANA databse is up but not able to connect with SAP Server ECC6.0 EHP7

R3trans -d is failing with error.

Below trans.log

Please ensure ping is sucessful from SAP CI aka PAS to HDB, and ensure the hostname is correctly maintained in SAP CI hdbuserstore.

You can try to connect issue below command in SAP CI as sidadm.

hdbsql -n <HDB_server>:5**15 -u SYSTEM -p <password>

Hope it helps,

Thanks,

Hi Krishna,

That means there is no port/firwall issue between your apps and HANA DB.

You can try Pavan's suggestion with the user SAPABAP1 and see.

hdbuserstore SET DEFAULT <new DC hostname><port> ; SAPABAP1 <PASSWORD>

Thanks,

Mofizur

sorry, typo, it should be:

hdbsql -n <HDB_server>:3**15 -u SYSTEM -p <password>

If you are on Windows platform, you should use below command to create hdbuserstore on your SAP CI on windows:

hdbuserstore -u SAPService<SID> SET DEFAULT host.example.com:3**15 SAP<SID> password

** is your hana system number.

Thanks for you help Mr. Michael Healy.

Finally I solved the issue.

Resolution - Run the below command

Since in the default profile we have hdb/schema = SAPABAP1

After executing the above command, its up and running.

you have to configure the hdbuserstore key

are you sure that the user/password you inserted in DEFAULT key are correct?

Hello Srini,

Can you see anything in the nameserver file or indexserver files?

Also, the hdbuserstore key is set to DEFAULT. This one is used by the NetWeaver work processes to connect to the database, in your case this is HANA. So the also make sure this is SAP<SID>.

BR

Michael

Check your hdbuserstore entry. SAP connects using the HDBUSERSTORE entry named 'default'.

On your ECC server:

$ hdbuserstore list

This should show DEFAULT pointing to the old DB server

$ hdbuserstore delete DEFAULT

$ hdbuserstore set DEFAULT <host>:<SQL port> <User> <password>

For example,

hdbuserstore set DEFAULT host.example.com:30015 SAP<SID> password

The SQL port is 3nn15, where nn is the instance number of the HANA system. After this is done, run 'R3trans -d' or hdbsql to verify the connection works.

You mentioned the HANA client is installed in 'C:/...'. Is your SAP instance running on Windows? Did you do a telnet check to see if the 30015 port is accessible from the SAP application server?

Hi Chakraborty,

I already tried the steps you mentioned. But still same issue. yes,SAP application is on Windows environment.

HI Krishna,

on the application server.. Could you please perform the folowing

>hdbuserstore DELETE DEFAULT

> hdbuserstore SET DEFAULT <new DC hostname><port> ; <SAPSID> <PASSWORD>

and see if the above resolves the issue

In general after moving diffrent DC, hdbuserstore will not get updates. So, you need to manually update the userstore using above commands.

Hi Pavan,

In database instance also we have secure store file location like " /usr/sap/HD1/home/.hdb/usalvlhanadb.infor.com/SSFS_HDB.DAT "

>hdbuserstore list

hd1adm@usalvlhanadb.infor:/usr/sap/HD1/HDB00> hdbuserstore list

DATA FILE       : /usr/sap/HD1/home/.hdb/usalvlhanadb.infor.com/SSFS_HDB.DAT

hd1adm@usalvlhanadb.infor:/usr/sap/HD1/HDB00>

there is nothing showing in SSFS_HDB.DAT file at database location.

Another one is at SAP application side "C:\ProgramData\.hdb\usalvwsec74ud\S-1-5-21-436979835-4093535384-2957063447-1004\SSFS_HDB.DAT"

do i need to set DEFAULT value at application side or Database side? Please confirm.

here user sapsid means SAPABAP1 or SAPHD1? HD1 is my Database SID.

Thanks,

Krishna

Hi Krishna,

You need to set on Application side.

>hdbuserstore DELETE DEFAULT

> hdbuserstore SET DEFAULT <new DC hostname><port> ; <SAPHD1> <PASSWORD>

i have also set the environment variable PATH = C:/usr/sap/SID/hdbclient

but still same issue with database connection. is there anythhing else i am missing here.
