Just needed to edit a database running on iAnywhere 11 server and noticed a whole raft of new tables, procedures and functions created by DBO and SYS..
Most of the new tables start with ISYS (e.g. ISYSARTICLE , ISYSARTICLECOL) and others like DUMMY(SYS) and EXCLUDEOBJECT(dbo). Others start with ix_consultant and jdbc_, sa_diagnostic, sa_tmp, satmp_
Should I be worried?
This doesn't appear to have happened with any other DB on that server
All those tables are present in every SQL Anywhere database and are nothing to worry about. The ISYS tables and the accompanying SYS views form the "system catalog" described here. The DUMMY table is a single-column single-row table similar in purpose to Oracle's DUAL table. The others have various purposes.
Various application development environments "hide" the catalog tables from view; perhaps in your case some setting have caused them to be displayed for this database.

That worked a treat - no idea how they crept out, but they are back now...
I've been using Sybase since DataEase started to outsource the back-end DB, so must be mid nineties, and I have never come across that before...
Guess the supermarket will have some more brandy, so what the hell 🙂
Thanks again
