Getting 'Error: (FileSystem::extractBlobFromLocalPath) file not found.' while opening BusinessObjects Universe Design Tool 4.0

Hi,

I am getting attached error when launching Universe Design Tool. I have tried below but still not working

1. Navigate to location :
   C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\My Business Objects Documents\LocData\
2. Cleanup the folder content, but make sure not to delete the folder itself.
3. Reopen the client tools.

Can someone recommend how can i resolve this issue asap

Hello,

Seems this issue is related to rights of the users to the Business Objects Folders.

1. The user profile(i.e. Windows AD user) with which you are logging into the machine is part of Domian administrators group.

2. Check the rights associated with the Business Objects Folder installed on your machine. Check whether the machine user has full control on all the folders within Business Objects.

try  to repair installation and see if it will work.

Goto to control panel and select go installation and click uninstall/change and select the option repair.
