Is the Business Client 5.0 not optimized for developing with ABAP ?

Just wondering because some shortcuts do not work in SE80 like Duplicate Line and CTRL+Arrow Left. Nothing major but writing code just speeds such shortcuts up a lot.

What the Arrow shortcuts do now, is that they move the tabs around and I couldnt find a option to change or fix that.

Thats why I'm wondering if its even made for developers ?

Best regards

have a look into the xmlOptions.xml. There you have the option to overwrite the short cuts of NWBC and therefor use the Gui short cuts. Its all explained in the comments and in the documentation (Administrator Configuration, see link above).

BTW hat about eclipse?

Thx for the answer,

but it seems to me that only a admin can change this now and that its not changeable in the personalisation window.

The Only thing I can overwrite is to use the sap gui theme instead of the nwbc one. But that doesnt change anything with the shortcuts etc.

Also with eclipse, I never used it before and got no experience with it.

Thanks for your help so far.

Best regards,

Patrick Voelz

Hi Patrick, NWBC is not explicitly optimized for using the ABAP workbench, but it works. Eclipse is SAP's state-of-the-art IDE for ABAP development. SE80 is still supported. But no feature development anymore (since NW 7.0). Bug fixes=Yes. I guess with NW 7.50 it's time to switch to eclipse. The following blog might help to convince you: http://scn.sap.com/community/abap/eclipse/blog/2014/03/28/get-more-out-of-abap-in-eclipse-with-the-f... Regards, Sandra
