Need help to create RFC destination for IS in SAP ECC system

Could someone provide details to create RFC destination in SAP system for Information Steward?

We have tried creating a TCP/IP RFC through SM59 t-code.

Not sure of what all details to fill in there. We have tried giving IS system details in Gateway Host and Gateway service. Got errors like 'CONNECT_TO GATEWAY_FAILED' , Program ID not registered, TP XXXX not registered etc..

What all fields should we maintain in SM59 with what values?

Please Note: Connection created in CMC for SAP ECC system has passed connection test and we are able to import table/view data. Error occurs when we try to run a task.

Nope not CMC connection. I am looking for RFC related activities.

So far I got to know that we have to maintain RFC destination details in Data services Management console -->Administrator -->SAP connections.

Will update if issue gets resolved.

Hi,

Below are high level steps to create RFC

1) Create the RFC in Data Service Management Console

2) Create a connection in Information Steward and give the reference of the RFC name provided in above step

3) Create/Maintain the same RFC Name in the ECC system

4) Ask security team to assing required authorizations by enabling trace. Usually it will be ZDSAUTH anything specific they can get from trace

5) Please also try to maintain the gateway in service files of the operating system where IS is installed
